Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.

LIVING as Christ-followers is a FULL-TIME MINISTRY, whether our roles be pastor, Uber-driver, mechanic, missionary, mother, accountant, coach, etc.
Jesus modeled the reality of living out full-time ministry and it included REST.
He invites us to take note of His Design for REST and to follow His example…
Notice the REST He modeled incorporated two non-negotiables:
His presence
A Quiet Place
Create SPACE for a “REST” in your full-time, Christ-following life and experience for yourself the divine treasure He has for you as you “come away with Him to a quiet place.”
Maybe you’re thinking, “A Quiet Place?!?” How can Jesus set that as a non-negotiable when some of us are surrounded with uncontrollable noise, activity, etc.?
Jesus is always after our hearts and minds, not after our circumstances and situations. The “Quiet Place” is what He defines as “Being Still.” And that can happen wherever you are. It is a heart/mind-state.
So a “Quiet Place” may look and sound different to each of us. But Jesus calls us still, “Come away with me to a Quiet Place and rest.”
